What to expect in Boracay?

Boracay is well-known for its white powdery sand and clear water. It is definitely a tourist magnet not only to us Filipinos but to other nationalities as well. But because people fail to take care of the island, The President of the Philippines Rodrigo Roa Duterte decided to temporarily close Boracay. It was closed for 6 months, from April 26 until October 26, 2018. And since the rehabilitation is finally over, my family decided to visit the NEW beautiful Boracay Island.

It is expensive to go to Boracay.

We were thinking of going to Boracay way back. But since transportation going there is really expensive we never had the chance to visit the island. We thought that it will only stay as a dream. And because we did some research and Google is one of my best friends. We finally go to Boracay last April 21 to April 23, 2019.

Say Hello to the NEW Boracay!

We found out that we can travel going to Boracay cheaper by ship. We book our ticket thru amigagarcia.travelservices@gmail.com via Starlite Ferries for only 2400 pesos per person, round ticket and they also give discounts for children 0-3 years old, 4-11 years old, students, and senior citizen. Then you have to book your hotel or resort room because you can’t enter Boracay without a confirmed booking from a hotel. The hotel personnel will give you vouchers via email, and you will show that to tourist verification officer before finally going to Boracay. You can look for affordable hotels in https://www.airbnb.com/?logo=1 or you can also check https://www.sirgboracay.com/ this is where we stay, Miss Ghati was very approachable.

Going to Boracay.

  • From Manila take a 2-hour bus ride or drive yourself to Batangas Port. We decided to drive to Batangas Port. You can park your car in the Port. They have “Park and Sail” for those who bring their own car.

  • It takes 10-hours ship ride from Batangas Port to Caticlan.

  • When you arrived at Caticlan Port you have to show your hotel or resort room voucher to tourist verification area.

  • In Caticlan Port, you have to pay the Ferry ticket going to Cagban for 25 pesos, Environmental fee for 75 pesos and Terminal fee for 100 pesos.

  • From Caticlan Port take a 15-minutes ferry ride to Cagban Port, when you arrived at Cagban Port you will see the big signage of Boracay.

  • From there, you can book an e-trike going to your hotel or resort room. We pay 250 pesos good for 9 people.

How’s my travel going to Boracay?

It was one of the most memorable travels I had. We were really happy with the outcome, we don’t have any problems. It not only saved us money but the ship ride is very comfortable. We will surely come back pretty soon. I hope this helps you and I believe that the memories you made when you travel are something no one can take away from you. Ciao!
